more reasons to complete sundown marathon

hi runners,

First, for convenience of those working, please take note our next run change to this Sunday, 7 pm , 2nd May

22 kms (ECP Mac-Fort Rd- Safra -ECP Mac)
7 pm,Sunday, 4th May
7.00pm warm up @ track beside 7/11
7.30 pm run start

bring your own hydration, there will be no water station for this run.

Second, the not so good news, gauging by the last few trial runs, it will be a gargantuan accomplishment for many of us ( read old, fat and ugly) to complete the full 42.195km.

Third, with bad news there must be good news! life is 5050
to make your effort even more meaningful, ah hoo had agree to match dollar for dollar to our charity run. that mean you will help to raise not $1,000 but $2,000 if you complete the full 42.195 km. remember there is no time limit to finish. you can run, walk. limp, persevere to the finishing line with a bruise body,a brave smile and a big heart feeling proud that you have make it and also raise $2,000 for charity. if i (read old, fat but handsome) can do my first marathon without any training and complete in 7 hr 40 mins, so can you!

friends, there are still 5 more weeks. train hard but train safe.

and last but not least, we have one more runner, ernest sim make it to the 33rd member of team "Run To Eat" now where are daniel ong eng cheow and dave ng chun sun?? sorry guys, if i have to resort to name calling to get you, so be it!! registration close 30 April 2008

26 Apr 30 km run @ ECP Mac

hi all,

forgot to attach training plan in my last mail.

from so many runners hitting the wall after 25km, we know we have to built up our endurance but so far, response for this saturday run is not encouraging. Hope to see more of you at 9 pm, saturday@ ECP Mac. for this run, I had given up this saturday "Mayday" concert.

Due to request by some runners, we will delay our run by 30 minutes.

6 weeks to Mara, Are You Ready

6 weeks to mara, are u ready? are you all ready?? the answer is a BIG NO!??

highlights of last sat run.

http://tuagulan.googlepages.com/home pictures of run courtesy of ah bay (our rookie camera man)

AWOL : alvin, willie
MC : ah ang, ah bay and zhao ming

due to some hiccups, run started off at 11.30pm. happily being a sweeper at the back made my first half of the run easy. to make the water point more visible we brought it 500m ahead at the junction of changi ferry terminal( also shortened our run by 1 km) sam never learned to sing "running on a saturday night" so he made it up by buying durian, yes D24 durian to help us turbo charge our tired legs. thanks to our hardworking watermen, sam and ah bay. I suggested next run, they can go mobile by cycling around the route; they can also moonlight as ice cream man.

I was going for sub 4 hrs, but alas was down to walking pace for the last 2 km. Nevertheless still very happy with 4hrs 15m finish. we do have quite a few fast runners but they "pang chek" after 22 kms

run result
andrew (3h10m)
william (3h20m)
andrea (4h, muscle cramp??)
calvin (4h5m, slept halfway, yes he was too tired that he took a rest in one of the hut)
ah chen (but he ran only the return route, chin chai lah count him in)
mag
freddy
gary
vincent (out tallest and longest legs runner, pang chek @ 25km)
jennifer
ah hoo
toby (surrender @ 25km)
alan (white flag @ 15km)
billy (white mailto:flag@15km)
patrick (commendable to complete 15km)
mr and mrs edwin (MIA. why? ran past hawer centre and decided to have supper?)

to my dear runners and those absentees, from the above result it is loud and clear that we need to built up our endurance in order to complete the full 42.195kms. i am suggesting a re-run @ 9pm this sat night (this will also fulfill sam's dream of selling ice cream @ ECP/PCN)

Next run 30 kms (u can turn back anytime, but please 'tong' to finish)
Sat, 26 apr ECP Mac
8.30 pm warm up
9.00 pm run starts

so far confirmed runners are

andrew
andrea
william
freddy
ah chan
ah tan
ah hoo
ah wah
